So today I decided to log in here and at least put up something because it’s been quite inactive of recent…despite having prior plans not to lol

I’m going to be writing about the ASUU strike action, here in Nigeria…It’s effects on students including it’s benefits too. Surprised huh?? Well, read on..

So how has the strike action been going so far? Strike actions has the capability of messing up the school calendar In ways one could never imagine, mostly for those being affected by it (both federal and state universities which are of course under the body of ASUU)… Consequently, students mental health is being threatened daily, overthinking and bad vices have become rampant because they’ve been denied their right to study…I’d say it’s been quite a challenge for most students but the phase could as well be an advantage if used right… in that various opportunities are presented for one to learn tangible skills, and prune them.. for the betterment of oneself.

In a part of the world where the educational system has been brought so low and isn’t valued anymore, where students are left at the mercy of terrible leaders…The government making little or no effort to make things better, prices on the high, unnecessary hiking of prices of goods and eventually, the strike action being targeted at innocent students…With all these and even more, one would realize that the life of an average Nigerian citizen or should I say, resident is hard enough as it is.

Having recently gained admission into school and hoping to have resumed in earnest not until the strike, I’d say it’s been tough on me personally but we always choose to look on the brighter side of things…All has been going smoothly so far though and I hope it remains so, and things get incredibly better.

In reference to the strike action, my advice to Nigerian students, mostly those affected by the strike, would be to find a skill in areas they’re interested in and get better at it…Because as it seems the system is going down by the day and we get to understand that we are the only ones to save us.

Few weeks back saw to the completion of over two months since embarking on this school break(ASUU Strike)…What skill have you learnt, or are you planning to learn?… there’s a lot of legit skills one could learn even as a student, from digitals and creative skills…Web and graphics designs, Digital marketing and likes, crypto and Fx trading, arts, fashion…the areas are quite innumerable. But then in the end, it eventually pays off.

I hope with time and with God on our side, we are able to get through the difficult times.
