How to get back into writing when you’ve lost your groove

Losing your groove and trying to get back into writing can be a struggle, and it’s one I am facing right now. I don’t know about you, but now life has gone back to somewhat normal, my time for blogging and writing has become less and less. And maybe I just need to stop putting so much pressure on myself, or maybe I just need to suck it up and get back into doing what I love. I don’t know, I’m trying to figure that part out still.

I tell people alot, that even with hobbies and things you enjoy, it’s healthy and okay to want a break from it. You don’t have to do it all the time, sometimes taking a break is more important than soldiering on.

I’ve been struggling to get back into writing recently, and you may or may not have noticed due to the lack of posts. I am not always going to be the first one to put my hands up and admit when I’m struggling with something. I’ve always been that way. Real life can get in the way of our passions and desires so easily, and I think thats what’s happened. But I am here today to share some tips on how to get back into writing and get your groove back. These are some of the things I’m doing myself, so you’ll be doing it with me if you choose to follow my advice.

GET BACK TO WRITING ABOUT THE THINGS YOU ENJOY MOST

I think one of the main issues I have had with getting back into writing is that I am overthinking it alot. I want to create content that I love, but I want my content to do well aswell. It’s hard sometimes to find that perfect balance of writing what you want and writing what you know your audience enjoys aswell. One thing I have learnt to do recently is just write about what I am passionate about.

Going back to writing about the things you enjoy most is one of the best things you can do.

HAVE FUN

Remember that writing and blogging is meant to be fun and something you enjoy to do. I know I put too much pressure on myself to be ā€˜perfect’ and do things right. But in reality, writing is supposed to be a hobby and something thats to be enjoyed. Remember why you started and go back to the new writer you once were.

Write about all of the fun and exciting things happening in your life, or share your favourite recent movies. What I’m trying to say here is to not take yourself too seriously.

TAKE INSPIRATION FROM THINGS AROUND YOU

I have said this once before, but one way I have been trying to get back into writing is finding inspiration through everyday things. It could be something someone said to you that day, or a book you read. As writers things are not linear for us. We can go in one direction or another. Life is full of amazing opportunities for us to create amazing work, we just need to be willing to see it for what it is.

How do you get back into writing? Have you lost motivation recently? How do you get it back?

If you’re struggling with getting your groove back into writing recently, Don’t rush it and remember to have fun. You’ll make your comeback when the time is right.
